Drugabuse.com unveiled the results of a study into drug use at music festivals. By tracking drug references made in Instagram posts from 15 different festivals, they analyzed 3,622,365 posts for mentions of a controlled substance.
Keep in mind that this only measures the drugs people are talking about on Instagram who also happened to tag the festival in thier post. It misses those people who do drugs and don’t Instagram about it, and the people who Instagram about the drugs they’re doing but forget to tag the festival. So this methodology provides only a rough picture of what’s happening at festivals. But the results of the study confirm what you probably already suspect: Marley Fest had the most mentions of drug use (pretty shocking…), and the KISS Country Chili Cook-Off had the most mentions of alcohol.
